Houstrup
Houstrup is a little way inland from the North Sea, midway
between the large Blåbjerg Plantation and a sizeable conservation
area with high dunes, broad sandy beaches and heather-covered
heathland. The area is known for its great variety of hiking and
biking opportunities, among them three popular mountain bike routes
through Blåbjerg Plantation.
Whatever the weather, in all seasons, there are always plenty of
activities to choose from in Houstrup's beautiful countryside. The
numerous country roads and paths are perfect for exploring on foot
or by bike, and encountering the beauties of nature, craft shops
and charming cafés. If you're lucky, you might come across some of
the many deer living in the plantation.
Here you will also find the large holiday centre, Sea West, which
offers Aqualand, bowling, a playground and much more. Houstrup also
boasts a grocery store, bike rental and the pleasant Farm Café. In
the summer, a wonderful little circus, Circus Zalmov, pitches its
tent beside the excellent Thai restaurant.
Houstrup is some 10 kilometres north of Henne Strand, where you'll
find a wide selection of places to eat and shop
