Ringkøbing & Ringkøbing Fjord
Ringkøbing - where the happiest Danes
live
Ringkøbing is one of the oldest and best preserved towns in
Denmark. Beautifully located in the northern part of Ringkøbing
Fjord, the harbour, which is more than 100 years old, is
particularly popular with fishermen and sailors. The harbour is
also home to the two sculptures "Survival of the fattest" and
"Lions-Hero".
Ringkøbing Fjord
Ringkøbing Fjord is a place of stunning beauty, wonderful for
holidays, bike trips, riding and sailing. At almost 300 km2, it is
of major importance as a resting, breeding and feeding ground for a
huge number of wading birds. In autumn, Tipperne, Skjern Enge and
Vest Stadil Fjord are particularly important safe havens for birds
before they continue their journey to their winter quarters in the
Wadden Sea or further south.
